Cinco de Mayo- Papel Picado & Pan Dulce

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with papel picado and pan dulce! Learn about the rich history of two important pieces of Mexican heritage while enjoying complimentary pan dulce and coffee and make your own papel picado with us!

Whether you've heard of papel picado or not, you've seen it! This traditional Mexican form of celebration has been used for hundreds of years, with its origins dating all the way back to Aztec culture. Today, colorful sheets of thin paper are still intricately cut by hand in a few places, but mass production has made papel picado accessible for any celebration. Learn why papel picado is used today and make your own to take home!

We will have complimentary pan dulce and coffee available throughout the day. Learn about how pan dulce rose to become a popular food in Mexico and how the French occupation influenced this food.

Program takes place at the Birthplace of General Zaragoza. This is a come-and-go program, so stop by for as long as you'd like!
