The annual Illumination occurs when the sun lines up perfectly through a window to illuminate the crucifix above the front altar of Mission Espiritu Santo.
As the sun begins to set, guests will be able to visit the chapel at Mission Espiritu Santo de Zuniga to view the annual phenomenon known as the Illumination. Around 7:00 pm, the sun will shine through the western facing window and light up the crucifix on the front altar.
Park entrance fees apply- $4 for adults, free for children 12 & under
WEATHER PERMITTING- The illumination only happens during sunny or mostly sunny weather conditions. If heavy cloud cover is present, the Illumination will not be visible.
