Intro to Birding

Learn how to use a field guide & binoculars before heading down the trail to see what birds we can find!

Join us for an intro (or a refresher) on how to use binoculars to find birds and how to use a field guide to identify birds! Learn what to look for when identifying a bird, how to use field guide features such as range maps and field marks, and how to use apps and technology to expand your knowledge. Once you have the basics, we'll take a walk down the San Antonio River Trail to find and identify birds!

• Binoculars and field guides will be provided.
• Entrance fees apply ($4 per person, free for kids 12 & under). There is no extra charge for the program and no registration is required.
• Meet in the Picnic Area.
• Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather.
