Plants of the Mission

10:00a to 10:45a
Sat, March 16, 2024
Emily Byrd
(361) 645-3405

Explore how Native Americans utilized the plants in the area for food, clothing, tools, and more!

The people who first settled near the banks of the San Antonio River had to know where to find food, shelter, medicine, and other essentials. Join a Ranger on a walk around the mission grounds looking at some of the area's native plants, learning how these plants were used by generations of people who eventually shared their knowledge with the first Europeans in Texas.

Meet on the mission porch.

Program is free with park entrance ($4 per adult, free for children 12 & under).
