Skins and Skulls

Get up close and personal with some of the animals of Goliad State Park by looking at, and feeling, their fur, talons, and teeth!

Have you ever wondered what an opossum feels like? Or how big a bobcat's teeth are? Or how long a great horned owl's talons are? Get the answers to these questions and more as a Ranger explains why certain animals are built the way they are. Learn how skull shape can tell us a lot about how an animal lives, why some animals are well-camouflaged and others aren't, and what an animal's claws can tell us about how it survives.

Program takes place on the back porch of Headquarters.

Program is free with park entrance ($4 per adult, free for children 12 & under).
