Cleanup for the Cranes

Help us prepare for the return of the original Winter Texan: Whooping Cranes!
Join Goose Island and International Crane Foundation for a meaningful volunteer opportunity as we welcome back the return of the endangered Whooping Cranes! These cranes journey over 2000 miles from their nesting grounds in Canada to their winter homes in South Texas. Let's make sure they have a clean space ready for them!
When: 9:00-10:00am (potentially longer if needed)
Where to meet: Big Tree parking lot
Bring: hydration, bug spray, sun protection, and a positive attitude.
We'll provide: grabbers, litter bags, gloves.
Age: This program is best for adults. We will be walking along a moderately heavy traffic area and participants MUST listen to the park ranger's direction.
Terrain: We will be walking along 12th Street and Lamar Beach Road. Expect uneven/grassy terrain and vehicle traffic.
Pets: We'll ask pets to stay home this time due to it being a high traffic area.
Cost: Free!
