Shorebird Walk

Spring bird walks are back!

Join our knowledgeable park hosts on a walk in search of some of Goose Island's iconic shorebirds. Expect to learn about and identify birds seen on the route, which includes a stop at the bird viewing area. This program is designed for both novice and experienced birders. Be prepared to walk up to 1 mile over mostly flat terrain.

Registration: This program does not utilize the tram, registration is not required.
When: 8:30 - 11:00am
Where: Meet at the day use picnic area parking lot
Bring: Binoculars, water, comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, camera, and weather-appropriate clothing. The park offers a limited number of binoculars available for loan while supplies last.

FYI:

• Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program. Children under two years of age must be seated on the lap of a guardian. 
• Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
• Large groups please contact Sara Rock for a private event. 

• Program may be canceled if no participants are present within 10 minutes of the start time, or in the case of inclement weather.
