Bird Banding Demonstration

Observe expert bird banders catalogue some of Goose Island's resident and migratory birds.

Join bird banders Rebekah Rylander and Kelly Bryan to learn more about the benefits of banding migratory bird species.

When: 8:30-10:30am
Where: Youth Group Area
Parking: Parking available at the Youth Group Area or Turks Cap trailhead nearby.
Bring: A chair, sun protection, hydration, camera, and your questions
Accessibility: Accessible parking located at the Warbler Way restrooms. The viewing table will be set up on pavement at the Youth Group Area. For questions on accessibility, email sara.rock@tpwd.texas.gov
Cost: Free with park entrance permit
Pets: We'll ask that NO PETS be present in order to reduce stress on birds.

FYI:
- Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
- Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
- Groups larger than eight please contact Sara Rock for a private event.
- Program may be cancelled if no participants are present within 10 minutes of the start time, or in the case of inclement weather.
