Junior Ranger Adventure Hike

Learn about the 10 essential supplies of hiking in a fun and interactive game!

What do you take with you on your hike? Did you know there are TEN essential items that could make your adventure safer and more enjoyable? We'll learn all about them! Be prepared to walk 0.5 miles.

When: 10:00-11:00am
Where to meet: the Turks Cap trailhead that is near site 157.
What to bring: hydration, bug spray, dress for the weather (sun protection)
Suggested age: This program is great for families with kids ages 5yrs+.
Accessibility: This program will take us along Turks Cap trail which is over uneven terrain (grass, sand, some shell). For questions on accessibility, email sara.rock@tpwd.texas.gov
Cost: All programs are free with park entrance permit ($5/adult, kids 12yrs and under free).

FYI
- Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the program.
- Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
- Program may be cancelled if no participants are present within 10 minutes of the start time, or in the case of inclement weather.
