Kallison Ranch Hike
Sat, December 28, 2024
Join us on a trip back in time with a short but beautiful hike to the historic Kallison Ranch complex.
Not normally open to the public, you will be treated to some incredible scenic views while learning about one of Government Canyon’s founding families.
The hike is approximately 2.5 miles round trip over sections of moderately rough terrain. We will discuss how Texas was settled in the late 1800s and learn about the highly influential Kallison family and their legacy.
Who Is Invited:
Hike is open to ages 10 and older. Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets please.
This is a public program intended for individuals or families. If you would like to bring a group for a program at Government Canyon, please contact the Park Interpreter at Lisa.Cole@tpwd.texas.gov to schedule at a different time.
Where to Meet:
Meet at the Rock Garden beside the Visitor Center. Please be in place and ready to go no later than 1:45 pm.
