GCSNA After Dark

A guided night hike

SHHHHHH.....

Experience the canyon after dark. Join knowledgeable State Parks Ambassador on a fairly short, and mostly silent, hike on a hopefully, starry, moonless night!  8:45 PM – 9:45 PM. Participants should be able to hike 2 miles (round trip) though the terrain will be very mild and stroller/wagon friendly. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes. Bring a flashlight, at least a quart of water, and a snack if you like.

Meet at the Visitor Center by the Rainwater Harvesting Tower. Open to all ages.  Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

IMPORTANT INFO: Since this hike begins after hours, be sure to self-register as you enter the Natural Area. Instructions are posted to the right of the Fee Booth.

The hike is free although Natural Area Entry fees do apply. To save time at the Fee Booth and ensure entrance on crowded days, please reserve your Day Pass by visiting https://texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com/camping/government-canyon-state-natural-area/r/deDetails.do?contractCode=TX&parkId=1200058

If you do not make advance day-pass reservations, you will need correct change: $6 per adult (13 years or older),or enter your annual Texas State Parks pass number on the appropriate line of the self-pay.

This hike is subject to cancellation. Check trail conditions by going to the GCSNA Webpage, or checking any of our Social Media feeds (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram).
