National Trails Day Hike: Bluff Spurs
Sat, June 01, 2024
Celebrate National Trails Day with an adventure on the Bluff Spurs Trail.
The Bluff Spurs Trail leads to an amazing overlook where you can get a real sense of the canyon that is our namesake. This hike is approximately 4 miles in length with a fair amount of elevation gain over rocky, rugged terrain. Open to ages 10 and older; minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets please.
Meet at the Frontcountry Trailhead in parking lot C. Dress for hiking outdoors; sunscreen and hat are recommended. Wear sturdy footwear appropriate for rough trails; bring two (2) liters of water PER PERSON, and a snack if you like. Open to the first 15 who check in at the Frontcountry Trailhead between 7:30 and 7:45 a.m.
Plan to arrive early as mornings can be very busy. The Natural Area’s front gates open at 7:00 a.m.; plan to check in at the Frontcountry Trailhead and be ready to go no later than 7:45 a.m. The hike starts promptly at 8:00 a.m.
Though the activity is free, entrance fees to the Natural Area do apply. We often fill to capacity. To ensure entrance and save time at the Fee Booth, please pre-purchase and print out a day pass. Please note: reserving a day pass is not the same as making a program reservation! The hike is limited to the first 15 participants.
