S'mores Storytime

Stop by for an evening storytime and nature show-and-tell, followed by s'mores and a setting sun.

This activity is stationary (no hike), and best for ages 5-10 years. Minors must be accompanied by their parent or guardian. No pets please.

This activity meets at the Amphitheater, near the Frontcountry Trailhead. Lot C will be the closest parking. There is a gravel path leading from the parking lot to the amphitheater, a distance of about 120'. The amphitheater is near an accessible restroom. 

Registration is NOT required for this activity, but is limited to the first 30 children to check in with the Ranger. This is a public program intended for families. If you would like to bring a group for a program at Government Canyon, please contact the Park Interpreter at Lisa.Cole@tpwd.texas.gov to schedule at a different time. 

Though the event is free, entrance fees to the Natural Area do apply. We often fill to capacity. To ensure entrance and save time at the Fee Booth, please pre-purchase and print out a day pass. There is often a line at the fee booth; arrive early to get to your activity on time.

Dress for time spent outdoors. Comfortable shoes, bug spray and a hat are recommended. Bring at least one bottle of water per person.
