Sat, November 09, 2024
Come out to Government Canyon State Natural Area and celebrate our military members with a Veteran’s Day Hike.
Military members past and present, along with their family and friends, are invited to share in a day of camaraderie. Feel free to carry your flags and bring pictures or memorabilia to share.
Hike distance will be approximately 7-9 miles covering uneven terrain with moderate elevation changes.
Who is Invited:
Hike is open to ages 14 and older; participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian; no pets please.
Registration & Fees:
Registration is NOT required for this hike; however, the group size is limited and open to the first 15 people who check in with the hike leader between 7:30-7:45 am. Plan to arrive early as mornings can be very busy. The Natural Area’s front gates open at 7:00 am; plan to check in at the Visitor Center and be ready to go no later than 7:45 am. The hike starts promptly at 8:00 am. Though the hike is free, all Natural Area entry fees apply.
To save time at the Fee Booth and ensure entrance, please pre-purchase and PRINT OUT a Day Pass. Day passes can be reserved beginning one month before the date of your visit.
