Homeschool Class: Benthic Macroinvertebrate Sampling (River Bugs)- FULL

10:00a to 11:00a
Wed, May 15, 2024

Experience Guadalupe River State Park as an outdoor classroom in this program for school-age kids!

Guadalupe River State Park’s homeschool program is a set of outdoor classes for homeschool kiddos grades K-5. Classes are usually held on the second full week of the month (September through May), and you can choose between Wednesday at 10am, Thursday at 10am or Friday at 10am. We will cover a different topic every month, so don’t miss out!

May's topic is benthic macroinvertebrate sampling (river bugs). Students will explore the river and learn to identify the different species that call the Guadalupe River home. We will be using nets in the river, so be prepared to get wet!

Registration: Program is limited to 25 students.
*NOTE: registration is closed as all classes and waitlists are full (as of 01/31/2024).
Please register only if you are sure your child can attend. If your plans change, email jessica.bergner@tpwd.texas.gov to cancel so that another child can have that spot.

Prepare: Dress for the weather and bring water
Meet: Meet at the amphitheater behind the Discovery Center
Fees: None; Entry fees will be waived under an educational waiver for the student and their parent or guardian

If ADA assistance is required, please email accessibility@tpwd.texas.gov at least 2 weeks in advance.

**Park programs are subject to change/cancellation in the event of inclement weather**
