The park is located in Comal and Kendall counties, 30 miles north of downtown San Antonio at the north end of Park Road 31. To get there, travel west on State Highway 46, eight miles west of the intersection of State Highway 46 and U.S. Highway 281, or travel east on State Highway 46, 13 miles east of Boerne.

When the park reaches maximum capacity, it will close to visitors without reservation (as early as 10 a.m. on weekends and holidays). If you are planning to visit for the day, please arrive early and have a back-up plan in case of a closure.
