Birding 101
Sat, May 23, 2026
Take a moment to learn the skill and joy of observing our feathered friends.

Whether it is their home or they are just stopping by, Texas State Parks are a great place to observe birds. And there are no special tools needed to enjoy their company. However, getting comfortable with binoculars, a bird guide and helpful aps can lead to a greater appreciation.
This program will take place in the day use area next to the boat ramp. This will give opportunities to see birds in the trees and across the water. Binoculars and birding guides will be available to borrow. So, if you are working on your life list or if you don’t know what a life list is, stop on by.
This program is free with your day pass. Basic equipment is provided for the program. Please bring/wear weather and activity appropriate gear. This program is accessible with parking and sidewalks. This program is weather dependent, please follow us on social media for news and info.
