America 250: Horned Lizards

Learn about the Texas Horned Lizard and other horned lizard species that live in the US!

Join the Texas Master Naturalists: Rolling Plains Chapter and park rangers to learn about the natural history and importance of horned lizards! Not only is the Texas horned lizard (Phrynosoma cornutum) the state reptile of Texas, but did you know there are many other species of horned lizards that live across the nation? 

This is a come-and-go information table that will run from 11AM - 1PM. We will have 3D printed skull displays of horned lizard species, crafts, games, and more! Stop by and learn about this iconic reptile and how you can help them continue to thrive. 

Meet: At the Equestrian Area. Parking is available, restrooms available at the pavilion.

This program is free to attend with paid park entrance ($4 per adult, kids 12 and under are free), or a Texas State Park Pass.
