Perseid Party

“Ooh” and “aah” with a Ranger as we observe the annual Perseid Meteor Shower.

Come out and join us for an evening of star-studded entertainment: stories about the cosmos, family friendly activities, and the opportunity to wish upon many shooting stars!

The Perseid Meteor Shower occurs annually in mid-July through late August, with the peak of the shower occurring late August 12 into the early morning of August 13. Because of the New Moon on August 12, we will have dark skies, providing a fantastic viewing opportunity!

When: Wednesday, August 12 from 8:30 to 9:45pm

Meet: Birch Creek Day Use Area

Bring: Telescopes, binoculars, cameras, lawn chairs, bug spray

This event is free with park entry: $5 per person, kids 12 & under free. Park admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass. Day passes can be purchased at our Self-Pay Kiosk or ahead of time on our reservation engine.

Please remember that the park closes to all day pass holders at 10pm. This program will end at 9:45 so that all day pass holders can be out of the park by 10pm.
