The Iron Riders were a group of Buffalo Soldiers who pedaled 1,900 miles across the Rocky Mountains and Great Plains from Ft. Missoula to St. Louis. Hear their amazing story, and try trail biking for yourself! We have a few mountain bikes/helmets available to borrow on a first come, first served basis, or bring your own. Please read the requirements below, and click here to register!
Requirements:
- Participants must have biking experience – this isn’t a “learn to ride” course. This class is designed for trail riding newbies who are looking to learn safety tips and insider tricks to become better at the sport.
- Participants must be at least 8 years of age.
- Participants under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
- Participants must sign a liability waiver.
- This class is limited to 10 participants, so participants must register online to attend. Click here to register!
Prepare: Dress for being active outside (layers and sturdy shoes recommended) and bring water. Bring your own mountain bike and helmet, or borrow one of ours.
Meet: In the picnic area of the park. If driving from park HQ, pass the pool and take your first right-hand turn into the picnic area parking lot.
Fees: This class is free with entry into the park. Regular park entrance fees are $3/adult, free for children 12 & under.
