Trash Pick Up on the New Property
Sat, June 06, 2026
Do you want to see the new land at Lockhart State Park? Then come lend us a hand!
Lockhart State Park recently acquired 188 new acres, which is very exciting! Unfortunately, some of that new property is covered with trash. Join us for a trash pick up party to help clean it up! You will get a special “first look” at the new property while lending a helping hand. This activity is recommended for ages 12 and up. All volunteers must sign a liability waiver to participate. No registration required.
Prepare: Wear mud boots (or waiters) and gloves. Most of the debris that needs to be cleared is stuck in the mud or under water. Expect to walk about 1/2-mile on uneven ground. Bring water to drink.
Meet: In the overflow parking lot. If driving from park HQ, pass the pool and take your first left-hand turn. Look for the brown “overflow parking area” sign.
Fees: This volunteer opportunity is FREE. When you check in to Park HQ, please tell our clerks you are here to volunteer, and they will give you a complimentary pass for your vehicle. Whenever you volunteer for Lockhart State Park, your entrances fees are waived!
