Eat a Bug

All over the world bugs are eaten every day. Meet us at the park to learn about and eat a bug yourself!

Where: At the Amphitheater

When: 3-4pm 8/7/24

Here in Texas, bugs are something that most people think of as pests or annoyances and little more. Many even find them gross! But around the globe, bugs are important and often sought after sources of food for many people.

Join park staff at the Amphitheater where we'll be talking about some of these insects that are eaten and where they're eaten. Once we've finished, you'll even have a chance to eat a bug of your own!

• Bring: Water and sunscreen.
• Meet: At the Amphitheater
• Cost: Entry fee is $4 for adults 13+ and FREE 12 & under (Park entry free with Texas State Park Pass.).
