Come join state park staff at Mission Tejas for a morning birdwatching hike!
The fall migration has begun!
Come to Mission Tejas State Park and join the park interpreter for a morning session of birdwatching as we try to see what out-of-town visitors are passing through on their way south. Keep your eyes open for our numerous resident species, too!
The hike will be just over a mile long, passing through piney forest, hardwood bottomland and along the edge of our Nabedache Prairie. Please note that the hike will be of moderate difficulty with some slopes.
When: Sept. 28 @ 7:30 AM.
Where: We will meet (and end) at the commemorative mission in the heart of the park. Parking and restrooms available.
Cost: Day pass into the park is $3/person. Children 12 and under get in for free as well as any carriers of a valid Texas State Parks Pass.
What to Bring: Comfortable hiking gear, water and bug spray for the hike. Cameras, binoculars and field guides for the birds!
