Kid's Day!
Sat, November 15, 2025
While the park hosts an all-day Trail Racing Over Texas (T.R.O.T.) Race, bring your kids to the Day Use area for a day full of fun and games!
The time has come for the Mission Tejas TROT race! Whether you're running and looking for something to entertain the kids, or you would like to swing by for a short time, come join park staff at the Day-Use area by the Group Pavilion for a day full of fun!
We will begin with fishing at the Mission Pond. We do have some rods, tackle and bait, but we are limited on these; please bring your own tackle if you have it or RSVP using the contact info on the left. Target species are mostly bluegill, green sunfish and other sunfish species but there are also channel catfish and largemouth bass in the pond!
After fishing, we will set out our collection of skins and skulls in the Group Pavilion, giving visitors and closer look at local wildlife!
After this, we will offer watercolor painting as well as pioneer toys and games!
Restrooms, picnic tables and playground are also at the site!
Where: Picnic area by the park group pavilion.
When: Nov 15. Fishing is a little after 9:00 AM and will wrap up by 11 AM. Other events will be set up and ran based on how the day goes, ending by 3:00 PM.
