Super Special Snakes!
Sat, September 21, 2024
Although our snakes may get a bad rap, these shy, slithery serpents play important roles in our lives and the Texas ecosystem. Join our park interpreter for a presentation on the stories we tell about these important animals and design your own snake!
This program will be indoors at the park Visitor Center by headquarters, beginning with a presentation on the importance of snakes to us and how the stories we tell about them impact how we view them. Afterwards, we will interact with rubber snakes and you can draw and design your own snake. A collection of informative pages about snakes found in the park will also be available.
Live snakes are not a part of this program, but we will have rubber snakes and pictures of local species for illustration.
Restrooms and water are available close at hand as well as limited public Wi-Fi.
Where: Mission Tejas Visitor Center.
When: Saturday, Sept. 21 @ 10 AM.
Cost: Free with admission: $3/person. Kids 12 and under get in for free as well as any holders of a Texas State Park Pass.
