Super Special Snakes!

10:30a to 12:00p
Sat, May 25, 2024
Noah Duke
(936) 687-2394, x225

Although our snakes may get a bad rap, these shy, slithery serpents play important roles in our lives and the Texas ecosystem. Join our park interpreter for a presentation on the stories we tell about these important animals and design your own paper snake!

This program will be indoors at the park Visitor Center by the Headquarters, beginning with a presentation on the importance of snakes to us and how the stories we tell about them impact how we view them. Afterwards, we will interact with rubber snakes and a small arts-and-crafts event will be held where you can draw and design your own paper snake. A collection of informative pages about snakes found in the park will also be available for attendants.

Those who have any phobias of snakes should be warned that images of local snakes will/may be shown and any attendants that may be bothered by such images are more than welcome to call ahead and voice any concerns to the presenter (contact info attached).

Restrooms and water are available close at hand as well as limited public Wi-Fi.

Where: Mission Tejas Visitor Center.

When: Saturday, May 25th @ 10:30 AM.

Cost: Free with admission: $3/person. Kids 12 and under get in for free as well as any holders of a Texas State Park Pass.
