Start 2026 with a relaxing walk of our shoreline at the crack of dawn!
Come witness an unforgettable moment of our first sunrise of 2026! Stay as long as you want on this ranger-guided walk of our shore as we welcome the new year!
Prepare: The walk will be about a mile in length from the day-use beach to the Fish Pass jetties and back, done at a leisurely pace. Remember to dress for the weather as we will be outside for about an hour and a half. Leashed, well behaved pets are always welcome on our beach walks. Beach wheelchair friendly as well, inquire at our park headquarters in advance!
Bring: Warm clothes, hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, good walking shoes, and binoculars are recommended. Feel free to bring drink mix or tea of choice for the hot water we provide!
Meet: The program will be at our Day Use Beach parking lot, straight ahead on our main park road upon entering the park. Hot water and cocoa will be available at 6:30AM. The shoreline walk will begin at 7:00AM. No sign-up required.
Fees: Regular park entrance fees ($7 per adult, children 12 & under are free). No charge for this program. Reserve your park entrance pass in advance at Day Passes - ReserveAmerica. Entrance passes reserved for our normal hours of operation, 8:00AM - 5:00PM, are valid for this early morning activity. Our self-pay station will also be available at our Park Headquarters parking lot for park entrance fees.
