Join us for a rare event of the Total Solar Eclipse, drop in any time between 12am-3pm.

Learn about the sun and eclipses. Try sun-inspired activities, view the eclipse through our solar viewing masks, and take a closer look at the sun through our telescope!

The partial eclipse will begin at roughly 12:15pm with its peak at 1:35pm, and end at 2:57pm.

Please Note: This is a Total Solar Eclipse, but Palmetto State Park is not in the direct path. Therefore, we will experience a partial eclipse at roughly 95% coverage.

Time/Location: 12:00pm, meeting by the Artesian Well area.

Bring: Dress for the weather, water, solar viewing device if you have your own.

Cost: This event is free with park admission, which is $3 per adult, those 12 and under are free. On weekends, reserve your day use passes early online!

Note:

  • All ages welcome, children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • All programs are subject to changes or cancelations. Call the park for the most up to date information.
  • Please plan for an extended stay, plan and prepare ahead of time as the many surrounding areas are popular viewing areas and will experience high visitation and long waits.
