It's your first hike of the year! Start it off along a river!
Start the new year off right with your first day hike!
Join us on a guided hike along the Pedernales River, and up and down some hills! This hike has a good chance of seeing wildlife, and the scenery and serenity of the river is amazing! This hike will be a big loop to come back to the parking lot. We'll start at the Falls Parking lot and hike down to the overlook, then follow the ridge going upriver to the boundary of the park. Then we'll hike up hill to the Northern Equestrian Trail and take that trail back to the parking lot.
- Meet at the swimming area parking lot to join in.
- This hike is about 2.5 miles long. We start going downhill into the canyon on rocky and sandy terrain then end on a grass/dirt/rock trail. Mostly even and sandy terrain, but some steep surfaces and gravel/rocky terrain.
- Wear comfortable shoes for hiking on rough surfaces, and weather appropriate clothing.
- Child and dog friendly if they can make it 2.5 miles.
- Normal entrance fees required to enter the park, no additional fees to attend this hike!
