Have you ever closely looked at moths?

Moths play an important role in our ecosystems. Naturally drawn to light, we'll set a safe trap for them so we can take a closer look at these fluffy flutterwings! At the same time, we'll be counting just how many different species of moths we find, and later submit our findings to citizen scientist databases!

  • Meet at the Star Theater to join in. We'll be set up along the fence next to the Star Theater Gate. Look for the large white sheet lit up with a purple-ish light!
  • Event will last about 30 minutes.
  • Child Friendly, they'll be able to help us survey the moths!
  • Dogs not allowed into Star Theater, but are fine in the parking lot.
  • Normal entrance fees are required to enter the park, no additional fees or reservations required to attend this event.
  • Weather dependent, please check weather before attending event. If significant bad weather expected we will cancel the event here on this page.
