Full Moon Hike

Strap on you boots and join a ranger for a guided hike celebrating the full moon.

In August, we are celebrating the Sturgeon Moon. Although rare, we do have two species of sturgeons that sometimes windup in Texas. Come learn about these "sea monsters" and how some anglers use the moon to their advantage as we hike on the Cross Timbers concrete trail.

Where: Nature Center Parking Lot
When: Saturday, August 29th
Time: 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM
What to Bring: Water, Closed-Toed Shoes, Weather Appropriate Clothes, Headlamps, Lanterns, Red-Light Flashlights
Who: All ages welcome.

Accessibility Information: This event will be held outside on our wheelchair-accessible concrete Cross Timbers trail. We will be hiking for approximately 2.5 miles. If you are interested in our adaptive devices, please email us at RRLSP.JohnsonBranch@tpwd.texas.gov.

This program is included in park entry fees. This program will occur after our Headquarters closes. Please make sure to book a Day-Pass reservation or use the Self-Pay station before attending. Programs are subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather. Cancellations will be announced on this website, or you can call park headquarters for updates.
