Where land and sky meet sea... and the best part is it's free!
Come celebrate nature with Sea Center Texas! This is a free event to attend.
Activities will include, but are not limited to:
- Youth Catch and Release Fishing, 10 A.M. to 12 P.M.
- Live Reptiles, Learning Activities, and More, 10 A.M. to 3 P.M.
- Birds of Prey Show, 11 AM & 2 PM
Other special visitors will include Texas Game Wardens, Friends of Galveston Island State Park, Gulf Coast Bird Observatory, City of Clute Parks Department, Texas Master Naturalists, and so much more!
Rules and Guidelines for Youth Fishing:
Join Sea Center Texas for a morning of catch-and-release fishing. No registration required.
- Bring your own equipment (Sea Center will supply volunteers with nets, however, you are responsible for bringing your own rods, baits, chairs, sunscreen, water, etc.)
- No artificial lures
- Bring your own bait (dead shrimp or squid; imported shrimp is NOT allowed)
- Barbless hooks only. No treble hooks, steel leaders, corks, or floats allowed.
- Only one rod per eligible youth can be used at a time
- No rod holders allowed
- No chumming allowed
- This event is for youth 16 years old and younger
What to Bring:
- Water
- Snacks
- Sunscreen, sunglasses, sun hat
- Weather appropriate clothing
- Be prepared to have fun!
