Fish for Reds and more at the Gulf!
This event is open to any kid 5 -12 interested in learning how to fish, fishing safety, and more in a hands-on, interactive setting.
Pregreistration is required for the first 200 spots; registration opens April 2nd, 2026.
100 spots will be open for day of registration
Session and Tournament:
Check-in: 8:45 am
Stations Start: 9 am
Fishing starts at 10:30 am
Lunch: 12:00 pm
Awards: 1:00 pm
During this event, kids 5-12 will rotate through interactive stations to learn about:
- Fishing Identification
- Fish Habitat
- Fishing Safety
- Knots
- Casting Techniques
After they've completed the stations, the fun begins! Each kid aged 5-12 will receive a brand-new rod and reel and head to the Gulf to put their skills to the test! Bait will be provided for the participants.
Volunteers will be on the beach to record the size and number of fish caught for each kid, as well as provide bait and fishing advice. We will award prizes to the following age groups: 5-8 and 9-12.
Parking and the event will be in the park and on the beach. Accommodations are available for visitors with mobility concerns.
