Scutes, Scales and Slime Scavenger Hunt

Crawl, slither or hop through the park to find all of our cold-blooded critters!

Join the search for critters scattered about the park! Pick up your copy from park HQ or the Pond Pavilion.

This is a self-guided, park-wide scavenger hunt. Please leave the laminated critter where you find them and be sure to cross them off the sheet while you go!

When: Saturday April 5 through Sunday April 27, 8am-5pm

Where: Pick up your copy at HQ or the Pond Pavilion.

Distance: The Critters are scattered throughout the trails, be prepared to walk 1-2 miles on flat gravel and boardwalk surfaces. 

Bring: Water. Water fountain located in Heron Plaza near restrooms.

Wear: Lightweight layers, a hat, and comfortable hiking shoes. SPF and bug spray recommended. 

Cost: FREE. Sheldon Lake State Park requires no permits or day-use fees.
