Nature Hike

2:00p to 3:00p
Wed, December 10, 2025
Cheyenne Mack
(325) 215-6248

Join a Ranger for an educational and enjoyable nature hike through the beautiful bottomland of South Llano River!

Enjoy and learn about South Llano River State Park on a walk through the turkey roost area! The bottomland is home to a variety of wildlife, including the Rio Grande Wild Turkey. This is your chance to learn more about the habitat so many animals call home!

Hike Information: We will be walking the Interpretive Trail TWICE! Which means double the chance at education and fun sightings! The total distance is about 1 mile.

Where: We will meet at the Buck House Parking Lot. Look for the green Park Program flags to know you're in the right place!

Bring: water, snacks, hiking boots/shoes (while the trail is an easy hike, there may still be some small holes or rocks along the way), and weather appropriate clothes

Cost: Free with park admission, and park admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass. On busy weekends, reserve your day use pass early online! Please note: Be sure you have a day pass purchased for everyone attending.

Don't forget to follow us on Instagram and Facebook for all the latest information about park events!

All events subject to cancellation due to inclement weather.
