Archery Program

Under the guidance of a skilled instructor, participants will learn the basics of archery along with the art of precision, focus, and discipline. All instructors are NASP‑certified Basic Archery Instructors (BAI). This one‑hour class begins with a required safety briefing, and anyone who misses the briefing will not be allowed to participate.

Participant Requirements

• Minimum age: 10 years
• Minimum height: 4 feet
• Must be able to independently draw the bow back with at least 10 lbs. of pull

Meet: Basketball court behind the Nature Center

Time: 10:00 –11:30 AM

Bring: Water, hat, bug spray, sunscreen; dress for the weather

Cost: This program is included with the purchase of a Daily Entrance pass. Adults are $5 per person, Children 12 and under are no charge. Texas State Park Pass holders admitted free of charge!

Weather Notice

This outdoor program may be canceled if any of the following occur: average wind speeds over 20 mph, A lightning strike within 6 miles within 30 minutes of or during the program, or a forecast of 60% or higher chance of heavy rain or thunderstorms 12 hours in advance.
