Capturing the present in an art form from the past
In the 1800's in Japan, Anglers would record their catches with ink and rice paper. And what was meant to document their success turned into an art form of its own. To this day, people still practice Gyotaku to create amazing illustrations. Join a Park Ranger at the Nature Center to learn more and practice creating your own work of art. This program is hands on with washable paints.
Time & Location: 1:30 -2:30 PM at the Nature Center
Cost: Included with daily entrance fee. Adults are $5 per person. Children 12 and under are free. Park admission is free with a Texas Parks Pass. Want to speed up your entry process? Reserve online in advance.
