On-site Registration & eOSR
Public Hunting in Texas 2025-26

What is On-Site Registration and eOSR?

eOSR electronic on-site registration To enter the hunting units in the Public Hunting Lands Map Booklet, you need to have purchased an Annual Public Hunting permit prior to coming to the unit. To participate in hunting on a unit, you must register daily with on-site (OSR) paper forms or electronically (eOSR). You can register with eOSR when the badge is shown on the hunting unit map in the Map Booklet Legal Game Box or on the Information Station sign at the unit.

For eOSR, use the Texas Hunt & Fish Mobile App on your smart phone or online at Texas Hunt & Fish before arriving at the unit. Many hunting units do not have internet access, but the App works without accessing the internet.

For paper OSR, when you arrive at a hunting unit, sign in and deposit Part A of the OSR form in the Information Station registration box. When leaving, deposit Part B of the OSR form in the same registration box. Paper OSR forms are available at select WMAs' and State Parks' Information Stations.

Paper OSR Instructions

Before beginning your activities on the hunting unit, you must fill out the top part (Part A) of the form and deposit it in the registration box. The bottom part (Part B) must be filled out and placed in the registration box before leaving the unit. Photocopies are acceptable if more forms are needed. Please note that most WMAs and State Parks require On-Site Registration to be performed using the area specific paper forms only.
