Hunts by Phone Reservation
Public Hunting in Texas 2018-19
Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis and must be made through the Wildlife Management Area (WMA) field office personnel; voice mail messages will not be accepted. Interested parties must reserve a hunt position by contacting the area manager before being allowed access to the WMA for hunting.
Cost: a $48 Annual Public Hunting Permit is required to take part in a Hunt by Phone Reservation.
Hunts Available by Phone Reservation
Black Gap WMA
Dates: January 11 to 13 and 25 to 27, 2019
Hunt Positions Available: reservations will be accepted for 6 groups of up to 2 hunters for each hunt period.
Bag Limit: unlimited coyotes and bobcats (no other predators may be harvested).
Hunting parties will meet at the WMA Headquarters (details are provided at the time of registration).
To Make a Reservation: call the Black Gap WMA office at 432-376-2216 on January 1, 2019 only beginning at 9 am. The WMA office will make reservations until all positions are filled.
APH Mentored Squirrel Hunt — Youth/Adult Only
Dates: February 2 to 3, 2019
Hunt Positions Available: reservations will be accepted for 10 groups of up to 3 hunters per group.
Bag Limit: county bag and possession limits apply. A mandatory workshop on the basics of woodsmanship and squirrel hunting will be required to attend this hunt.
Hunters will be accompanied by TPWD staff at all times during the hunt.
To Make a Reservation: reservations must be made by calling the Gus Engeling WMA office at 903-928-2251 on January 3, 2019 only between the hours of 10 am and 2 pm.
