Rifles and handguns are prohibited as a means of dispatching alligators. Firearms may not be used to shoot at free swimming alligators. NO fishing is allowed during the alligator hunt.
Hunt Method
Entire Area ; Hunters are STRONGLY encouraged to bring boats. Shotguns must be used to dispatch alligators secured to line.

All adult hunters must possess a current Annual Public Hunting Permit (APH) to apply. This hunt will take place on the San Antonio River Unit (Unit 760) of the Guadalupe Delta WMA. Hunters must attend a noon mandatory orientation at the Guadalupe Delta WMA headquarters on the Friday of each hunt period. Hunters may camp on the area however there are no facilities available.

Daily Other Migratory Game Birds Either Sex; Coot, rail, snipe and gallinlue having an open season during these hunt dates may be taken.

Legal daylight shooting hours only (no night hunting). Hunter orange is required while hunting feral hogs, squirrel, rabbits and hares. Baiting is allowed for feral hogs. Fishing is allowed.

Compartment ; Compartment area is subject to prolonged and extensive flooding. Area does not have all weather access roads. UTV/ATV STRONGLY recommended.
