- Tent and RV camping is allowed on the Area by drawn hunters with a limited number of sites having non potable water and electricity available. Lodging is available on the Area in the hunting lodge on a first come basis. Lodging may be reserved by calling the WMA. There is no cost for lodging by drawn hunters. The lodge has five bedrooms and two bathrooms. All bathrooms, the kitchen and a lounge are shared by everyone in the lodge. Lodging is available off of the area (hotels, bed and breakfasts, camping) in Mason (6 miles).
- Hunters take their own vehicle to the hunting area. A 4-wheel drive is recommended for some areas and a high clearance is recommended for all areas. Use of all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) is prohibited, except by disabled persons.
- Hunter education is required of hunters born on or after September 2, 1971 (See Hunting Guide for more information).
- On all hunts, except archery (ADE) and dove, all hunters must wear a minimum of 400 square inches of daylight fluorescent orange material with orange headwear and 144 inches appearing on both the chest and back.
- Hunters should report to the check station prior to 11:00 am on the first day of the hunt. All hunts end at 12:00 noon on the last day of the hunt.
- All standby hunters are required to be at the check station before 11:00 am on the first day of the hunt. Standby hunters arriving after 11:00 am will not be allowed to participate in the drawing.
- All general permit hunts are by assigned compartment or blind. Most blinds are box blind type and may or may not have roofs; therefore rain protection may be necessary.
- All hunters must check in and out at the hunter check station located at the HQ complex.
- It is an offense for a person to be under the influence of alcohol or consume an alcoholic beverage while engaged in a hunting activity, or to publicly consume or display an alcoholic beverage while on a wildlife management area.
