Dates Open:

Limited public access is offered during land management workshops, field days, Wildlife Management Area (WMA) tours and public hunts. Public hunting opportunities are offered through drawn permit hunts and walk-in style hunts during specific dates and times with a Special Drawn Permit or Annual Public Hunting (APH) Permit. General Access

Access to the Roger R. Fawcett Wildlife Management Area (WMA) is limited to scheduled land management workshops, field days, WMA tours and public hunts. The WMA encompasses 5,458.7 acres of unique habitat types including old-growth post oak and blackjack oak woodlands interspersed with open grassland savannas and rocky sandstone outcrops. The property features over 350 feet of elevation change offering diverse terrain and ecological conditions.

Accessible public restrooms and parking are available at the WMA office. All public users are welcomed during open access periods. If you have a hearing, vision or mobility disability and require accommodation, please call the WMA directly to learn more. Non-potable water is available on the WMA, but visitors should bring adequate drinking water.

Permits Required

During drawn permit hunts, a Special Drawn Permit is required. To apply for E-Postcard hunts, an Annual Public Hunting (APH) Permit is required. During designated dates and times, walk-in style dove hunting is available with an Annual Public Hunting (APH) Permit. For more information, please go to Public Hunting in Texas webpage.
