Playa Lakes

Playa lakes provide important wetland habitat in the Texas Panhandle region.

Playas are ephemeral wetlands characterized by Randall or Ness clay soils and occur in portions of Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and northwestern Texas.
