AUSTIN— The temperature is finally cooling off, so it’s time to go outside! Fall is the ideal season for warming up by a campfire, telling stories and making s’mores, and Texas State Parks have family-friendly events and programs for all to enjoy.
AUSTIN— The Centennial Time Capsule, which encompasses 100 years of Texas State Parks history, is once again on the move and enroute to its winter home at Davis Mountains State Park as part of its 50-year trek to every state park across the Lone Star State. The time capsule, which houses one object from every state park and support program, went on display at Blanco State Park in April of this year.

AUSTIN— Soon Texans will have a new spot in the Hill Country to explore thanks to the latest Texas State Park land acquisition in Uvalde County. Bear Creek State Park is 1,720-acres and located less than a mile from Garner State Park, one of the most popular sites in the state.

MINERAL WELLS – After a lengthy closure, the full 20-mile stretch of Lake Mineral Wells State Park Trailway is officially open to the public thanks to the completion of a major bridge repair between FM 1195 and the National Vietnam War Museum.
