Inks Lake State Park Celebrates 75th Anniversary with the Grand Opening of a New Headquarters Building

AUSTIN — Inks Lake State Park celebrated its 75th birthday with a fun-filled day of family-friendly activities and the grand opening of the newly completed headquarters building.
This Hill Country gem, an hour northwest of Austin, is home to rolling hills and shady forests as well as its namesake, Inks Lake. The park opened the brand-new headquarters building on Oct. 17, which will give visitors a world-class introduction to the park as soon as they arrive.
Parkgoers who attended the anniversary event were able to participate in numerous activities such as:
- Archery and atlatl
- Operation Game Thief trailer
- Historic Campsites: What camping looked like through the decades
- Campsite decorating contest
- Historical programs and artifacts
- Selfie scavenger hunt
- Blood drive
