Hop into a Texas State Park for Easter Fun This Spring

AUSTIN— From Easter egg hunts to egg coloring, Texas State Parks are hopping with unique Easter programs for the whole family to enjoy.
Families planning to visit a Texas State Park this Easter are encouraged to purchase a day pass in advance through the Texas State Parks reservation system at TexasStateParks.org/reservations. These “Save the Day” passes guarantee entry to parks even during busy times like weekends and holidays.
Easter-themed events happening this year include:
Atlanta State Park will be hosting its annual Easter egg hunt 1:30-2:30 p.m. April 20. The hunt begins at 2 p.m. and will be comprised of three categories- zero through four years, five to eight years and nine to 12 years. Each age group will have 1,000 eggs hidden. Twenty are prize eggs and the rest will be filled with candy. The Easter Bunny will also be visiting for this event. Entrance fees will be waived for this event.
Colorado Bend State Park will have an egg coloring event at 10-11 a.m. April 20. A ranger will talk about the history of the Easter Bunny and lead the group in outdoor egg coloring. Participants can meet at the amphitheater in the North Shore Campground.
Spend Easter at Copper Breaks State Park and enjoy a day filled with activities from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. April 20. Programs scheduled throughout the day include cowboy coffee and donut holes, backyard bass, atlatl 101, meeting of the longhorns and an Easter egg hunt. The Easter festivities are free with paid park entrance.
In East Texas, Daingerfield State Park will be hosting an Easter egg hunt in the meadow at 10 a.m. April 20. Entrance fees are waived for the event and visitors are encouraged to get to the park 15 minutes before the event.
Partake in Easter-themed nature craft activities at Lake Livingston State Park from 10-11 a.m. April 20. Rangers will lead a fun, educational series that includes games, activities and a craft activity for children to take home with them. There is no additional charge for this program for any visitor, other than regular park admission fees.
