Rebuilding an El Paso Icon: Wyler Aerial Tramway Project Moves Forward

EL PASO—The long-awaited rebirth of one of El Paso’s most beloved landmarks is underway, thanks to the steadfast support of the Texas Legislature. With $27 million in state funding secured, the Wyler Aerial Tramway at Franklin Mountains State Park is on track to once again carry visitors to the top of Ranger Peak, where they can take in panoramic views of two countries and three states.

Federal Red Snapper Season Closes November 21

AUSTIN- The 2025 recreational red snapper season in federal waters will close at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, making this the longest federal red snapper season since 2007. Saltwater anglers enjoyed 173 days of offshore red snapper fishing along the Texas coast this year.

TPWD Opening Certain Oyster Harvest Areas Along the Coast

AUSTIN – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is opening several bays to commercial and recreational oyster harvest beginning 12:01 a.m. Nov. 1. Since Nov. 1 falls on a Saturday, the first legal day for commercial oyster harvest will be Monday, Nov. 3.
