SABINE PASS — Celebrate the beginning of a new year and the start of America’s semiquincentennial (America 250) with a First Day beach walk at Sea Rim State Park.

This annual tradition is a unique opportunity for people of all ages and skill levels to experience one of Texas’s wild places with walks on the beach. Visitors will learn about beach and ocean ecology and history, participate in a polar plunge, and enjoy traditional new year snacks.

Date: Jan. 1, 2026

Time: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Where: Sea Rim State Park

Cost: Free with park admission, and park admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass.

Please note: You do not need to register or make a reservation for this event, just be sure you have a day pass purchased for everyone attending.
