AUSTIN — To hunters, springtime in Texas is often viewed as chasing turkeys through hot, humid weather, or hanging up the firearm for a fishing pole. For white-tailed deer, spring represents a time for growth: body growth, antler growth and population growth.
AUSTIN —Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s (TPWD) Community Archery Program is partnering with Purtis Creek State Park in Eustace on Nov. 7 to help the public “Explore Bowhunting.”
AUSTIN – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) encourages waterfowl hunters to take action to protect Texas water bodies from the spread of aquatic invasive species like zebra mussels and giant salvinia that can degrade waterfowl habitats and block access.
AUSTIN – Quail hunting season kicks off on Nov. 1 in Texas, and the annual Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) roadside survey revealed some encouraging population numbers heading into opening day. Good habitat conditions along with timely rainfall helped bobwhite and scaled quail production this last spring and summer.
