Hunting Endorsements

The following endorsements are included with the Lifetime Resident Combo Package and the Lifetime Resident Hunting License. They are not required for any hunter (resident or non-resident) under 17 years of age.

• Archery Endorsement (Item 135)
• Migratory Game Bird Endorsement (Item 168)
• Upland Game Bird Endorsement (Item 167)

The following endorsements are required if applicable to your specific activity

• Reptile and Amphibian Endorsement (Item 178)
• Federal Duck Stamp (Item 138)

Archery Endorsement

Required for the following:

• Hunt game animals during an Archery-Only open season
• Hunt deer at any time in Collin, Dallas, Grayson, or Rockwall counties

Texas Migratory Game Bird Endorsement

Required for the following:

• Hunt any migratory game bird (waterfowl, coot, rail, gallinule, snipe, dove, sandhill crane, and woodcock)
• A valid Federal Duck Stamp is required of waterfowl hunters 16 years of age or older.

A free Federal Sandhill Crane Hunting Permit is required to hunt sandhill cranes, which is available at TPWD Law Enforcement offices or online.

Upland Game Bird Endorsement

Required to hunt turkey, pheasant, quail, or chachalaca.

May not be used to hunt turkey with a Non-resident Special Hunting License (Item 107) or a Non-resident 5-Day Special Hunting License (Item 157).

Federal Duck Stamp
(Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp)

Required for all waterfowl hunters 16 years of age or older; electronic Federal Duck Stamps issued by TPWD are available through online license sales and all license retailers.

Starting during the 2024-25 hunting season, Federal Duck Stamps either printed on physical licenses or validated on digital licenses meet the requirements for the entire waterfowl hunting season.

Physical Federal Duck Stamps will be sent to the purchaser’s designated mailing address after March 10, 2025. If waterfowl hunters only have physical Federal Duck Stamps, they must still be signed across the face and in possession while waterfowl hunting.

A valid hunting license, HIP Certification, and Texas Migratory Game Bird Endorsement are also required.

Reptile and Amphibian Endorsement

Required for any person to capture indigenous reptiles or amphibians on the shoulder of a public road or any unpaved area of a public right of way.
