Thank You Volunteers!

Your contributions help Sea Center Texas run guided hatchery tours, wetland tours, educational programs, gift shop operations, guest registration, youth fishing events and special exhibits. If you enjoy working with people and want to contribute to your community and your natural environment, Sea Center Texas is the place for you. Adult volunteers are asked to commit to at least six months of service (teens at least three months) and at least seven hours per month.

Become a Volunteer

1. Choose from the opportunities below and complete the application.
2. Volunteers over 18 years old must also consent to a criminal history background check.
3. You will receive an email invitation to attend a two-hour orientation meeting, where you will learn specifics about each opportunity and types of training available. .

Volunteer Opportunities
Gift Shop Volunteer

Hatchery Tour Guide- provide guided hatchery tours for groups and individuals.
Touch Tank Exhibit- help visitors safely interact with marine animals and answer questions.
Aquariums- introduce visitors to aquatic species and help show the value of Texas marine habitat conservation.
Gift Shop- serve as a cashier, assist with stocking and help price merchandise.
Greeter- greet visitors as they arrive, assist them with registering and answer questions.
Youth Fishing- assist youth during special events and help prepare and maintain equipment.
College Intern- gain knowledge and skills about visitor center operations, public relations, hospitality and tourism, aquatic science, fisheries management, marine habitat stewardship and more.
